He turned 5....a month ago

What I like most about this little 5 year old man:
He loves the buckeyes. He wears his buckeye jersey almost everyday...clean or dirty. Thanks Mom and Dad for getting him a new one. He needed it. He is a good mix of silly and serious. There is never a dull moment with little D.

He likes to play the guitar.....and make lots of noise.....all the time.

He is a great big brother.

He loves being outside.

He is like his Dad is so many ways. He never takes no for an answer, needs to be physically active to let off steam, is energized by people, has a love for the outdoors, has a heart for the Lord, and he will give you the shirt off his back.....as long as it's not his Buckeye shirt. I love this little man.

A few weeks ago we had his 5 year birthday party with a few of his buddies. It was so fun. He had been looking forward to this day for a long time. When he got up in the morning he immediately ran downstairs and put his shoes on to see if they still fit him. He is convinced that he is bigger now that he is 5.
At his party each of his friends got a matching shirt and miniature skateboard.

Are they not the most handsome little guys?

We had a short skateboard race down the street.....5 year old style.

And finished things up with some yummy cupcakes with little skateboards on top.

Thanks to all of our friends for bringing your boys to the party. It was an amazing day for Darren. Thank you also for the gifts. You are all so generous.
