For years my husband and I have dreamed of owning a farm. A small farm where we can raise our 5 children and a space where they can explore and create.
We currently have a contract on a 1834 farmhouse out in the country but still close enough to shopping and the YMCA. Woohoo! The inspection went well so hopefully this little beauty will be ours mid May.
It's located on nearly 5 acres and has a creek (with a bridge. How cool is that?) , lots of big beautiful trees, a workshop, fenced garden, and more. It is such a beautiful place to raise a family.
We have A LOT of painting to do in order to get the house ready. There is beadboard EVERYWHERE! Which I really like. No changing that. But, the paint colors need to change in some of the rooms and all the cabinets need a new coat of paint and possibly a new color.
All of the photos shown are taken with the current owners residing in the house. I will post after pictures when we actually own the house! HA!
Enjoy Snooping :)
The Dining Room
Eventually my handy hubby will plank these wall paper covered walls with 1x6's kinda like these:
The kitchen looking into the entry
The wood door in the upper right corner in the picture below opens up to a spiral staircase.
I'm thinking about painting the green cabinets Benjamin Moore Shark Skin.
The brown painted wood floors will be painted shades of light and dark grey (maybe BM rockport and overcast) in a checkerboard pattern similar to this:
Beyond the kitchen is the family room. I'll post pictures of that room later.
Kids Bathroom. Not much to do in here other than touch ups.....and purchasing a new rug.
The checkerboard floor from the kitchen will continue into the laundry room
Lots to do. Lots to paint. Lots to be thankful for!!
Thanks for snooping stopping by!!
